Some impressions from my new Shimano ET5.
Well, the sand beige is more a olive green.
Shoes with a coarse sole that has a good grip on terrain. The sole is stiff but the walking comfort is still okay. Under the quite thin insole is a stable plate. There is a red marker on the outer side that can be used to check your position on pedal as well as the seating.
On the Hope F20 pedals they grip well when dry. However, they slip when wet, although the pins on the pedals are not among the sharpest.
When tightening, the loose tongue is a bit bulky and fiddly. At temperatures down to 5 degrees Celsius, they dry weren't too cold for me. Water rolls off, but in the rain or when stepping into a stream, the feet are quickly soaked.
So far wet but happy!
