Greetings all, I hope everyone is well. I just purchased my first Ebike (second hand but only with 500 kms on it), it is a Merida Espresso.
The battery was left on charge by the previous owner. (for an extended period of time when he went on holiday).

It is a Shimano Battery - BT-E8014 (bike has Shimano Steps system)

The left and right green charge indicator lights flash after it is connected to the charger for a few minutes and so does the amber light on the charger itself.

According to the user manual it indicates a "Electrical Failure inside battery". (see attached). The instructions on recovery are a little unclear, it says "Connect the charger to the battery and then remove the charger. Press the power button with only the battery connected".

Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Hoping to bring it to life :)

Interestingly after tinkering with it ., the error is now the one above with the first light flashing and the second light solid..... seems that the battery is cooked :-( are there people who can service batteries?
