Hi All.

As the title suggests.

Im in need of a new seat for my new turbo levo comp. I did a 32mile ride on the weekend, 3 hr saddle time and 2 days on i still feel bruised where i sit. Im used to riding pretty firm seats as i run one on my Diverge gravel bike however the seat on this one just isnt agreeing with me. I know there are alot of variables to decide on such a seat, however im hoping people can point me to a reliable and comfortable brand. Also need to get my sit bone measured but finding it hard to figure out how to do this.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Choosing the right saddle for your bike is more of a personal choice depending on the style or riding you do. Make sure to choose a mountain bike saddle that compliments your riding style - if you are spending more time in the saddle, you might want a bike seat replacement that offers a little more padding than a performance saddle that could be found on a downhill bike.

Whale tail, elephant, flat, narrow, wide, hard, gel, channeled, long, short. And then there’s weight and colour and materials.

I use an Ergon Core m/s…because it fits.

@capposteve To measure your sit bone width, do this.

Lay a piece of corrugated cardboard on a flat surface that is at normal sitting height. Sit on the cardboard for about 5 seconds. When you get up, you should see two depressions in the cardboard. If not then get some thicker corrugated cardboard or maybe you just have a fat arse.
Draw a circle around the depressions and mark the centre of each circle. The distance between the centres is your sit bone width. Add 15-25 mm to that to get the saddle width, measured across the widest part.

Or you could follow the advice of Rachel Atherton on the WTB website and measure your wrist circumference, which for me is entirely counter intuitive, but it worked!
