Routing rear brake hose - do I have to unscrew motor?

Hello, I've finally got around to upgrading my rear brake (rotor, hose, caliper and lever). I did the front one weeks ago.

This requires routing the hose (1) through the chainstay (easy enough), (2) into the battery compartment (problem) and (3) from there through the port on the downtube (easy).

It's the middle bit that seems difficult. The hose is tight between the battery compartment and where it emerges before the chainstay. What is jamming it in place? Do I have to drop the motor out to route the hose?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming your Cube is like mine :) yes, drop the motor.

There's plenty of room to route the cable down underneath the battery 'tray' and the chainstay but in between the cable routes around the motor and there is no way to just push it through with the motor in place.
