Reseat battery key Seal

The seal around the battery key on my Hardseven 5 has fallen out. I suspect my daughter may have pulled it out. Now here is the hard part I can't get it to go back on. It seems like there's not enough space around the lock to reseat it. Has anyone replaced one before and if so how did you do it? Don't want to damage the seal trying to get it back on.

the actual lock is not central in the hole in the frame so I suspect you will have to remove the battery connection plug, or at least loosen it, then put the seal in, then refit/retighten the plug.
