I have a Crestline 7550 and need a replacement charging port cover. With shipping, it comes out to about $40 if I buy from Crestline. Is that cover proprietary to Crestline or can I find a generic one somewhere else cheaper. I wasn’t able to find anything online.$40 is pretty steep for that thing. Thanks!

They are all proprietary, never seen anything like a generic cover (though you can find aftermarket covers sometimes but they will still be bike-specific). Did you try contacting Crestline? They sent 3 covers with my first frame (on accident, was supposed to be two) and 2 with my second frame so they usually have lots of extra. I guess it depends what happened to your old one :p
EDIT: Sorry I misunderstood the question to say "motor cover". That does seem quite a high cost for the charge port cover. You might contact them just to be sure. The charge port covers are slightly less proprietary but the only way you will get it to fit the fame is to use the Crestline one (i.e. you could probably find something to plug the port, that's a standard shape, but it wouldn't match the frame and would need to be trimmed).

How about Gorilla tape? Free, waterproof. Likely a proprietary cover or very hard to find independently. Try alibaba but might have to buy qty?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I ended up just buying the cover from Crestline. It ended up being $37 shipped. The cool thing was that the shipment was overnight and also included a water bottle and their chain stay protector. I didn’t order either so that was nice of them to include.

Was chatting with Troydon about the range extender and it turns out I was wrong, the port cover *is* more or less generic. It's a Bosch design. The stock one has a Crestline logo but many others should fit.
