Battery recycling in the Uk seems negligible as far as I can find out In fact the world wide Ni cad/Li etc recycling seems to involve just shredding the whole battery and separating the metals and the rest goes to questionable reuse operators ........
anybody know anything about it ?
And why cant my Focus battery be refurbished rather than scrapped ....what a waste?

I understand that repurposing is better than recycling, i.e. using the batteries for other purposes such as energy storage for renewable energy for homes, etc.
