Rear Suspension looking out of line Giant E-reign

I figured out this week that my rear was missing spacer in an maestro link. Looking at the rear I can't help myself but thinking it looks out of place. Maybe someone can let me know if it's like that out of the factory.

The shock offset is normal, both the Trances's I have owned, had the shock favoring the left side of the bike.

I read somewhere, the offset allows more room for the chainring.
