Rear shock will not fully extend

Just went for a ride and the the rear shock on my 18 Carbon Comp fattie will not fully extend. Is this common? It is the stock Rock Shox unit. Seems air bound. Disappointing only 50 miles on the bike!

Yes I had this let all the air out of the shock and out of the negative chamber (the silver auto sag button) the cycle the bike through its travel slowly a couple of times then re inflate to normal pressure. Was told sometimes a tiny piece of grease from the assembly process gets stuck over the hole between pos and neg chambers, this frees it up
