Rear Rack is awesome for carrying 2nd Battery!

Just got a Trek Rail 9.7, and need to carry an extra battery to keep up with my buddies and their 60k+ rides. Looked to backpack and handlebar options but decided to go with old faithful- Old Man Mountain rear rack. Installed super easy, and with a Ortlieb pannier and voile strap it’s buttoned down and solid.

Anyone else using a rack or other method for carrying their 2nd battery?

I’ve been looking everywhere for this set up on a trek rail. Do you find the pucks work ok and have little to no movement on the rear stays?

It worked fine for riding easier trails, but when it came time to charge the rough stuff, it would not stay put. The pucks moved a bit, the bolts came loose. Even with putting grip tape under the pucks and using red loctite on the bolts. I bought a second set of pucks and was going to double up on the reinforcement, but I just said screw it. For the few times I ride with a second battery I'm just carrying it in my pack.

I’m going to get a 4” ext cable and throw the extra battery in my H2O pack. 2023 Orbea M20 .

This is great! I bike commute on mine and now that it's warming up I don't want to use a backpack and I was thinking of panniers.
