Raising Money for Cancer Research

I'm doing 100 press ups per day and hoping to raise a little bit (or a lot) of cash for Cancer Research. I'm also hoping it'll get me back into regular exercise, lose some weight, improve upper body strength and improve my mental health.

Give a little, give a lot, it all helps.

I lost my dad to cancer in 2021 so I'm hopeful that my efforts will relieve someone else's pain in the future.

Gooood morning folks!

Halfway through the challenge and I’ve done 1509 press ups and raised £260 for Cancer Research.

Many thanks to everyone who has donated thus far, I’d love to get to £500 if I can, so any donation big or small is gratefully received.

Whoring myself across social media seems to be working; up to £320 now!

Thanks again to everyone who's put their hand in their pocket.

So far, the challenge has raised nearly enough to buy an S-Works road bike...

I got an email from a Saudi prince offering me over 10 million USD for just giving him £10000 to help clear his funds. Hopefully that’s now in his account.

Once I get my payout, I’ll up my donation considerably 👍

Aaaaand I’m done!

I’ve done 3009 press ups and raised £430 for Cancer Research.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has donated thus far, I’m still hoping to get to £500 if I can and I’m so close, so any donation big or small is gratefully received.

Well done mate! That’s a decent number of press-ups. Why the extra 9?

To add a bit of variety I tried a different grip and failed on number 100 so I took a rest and redid the set of ten.

At the start, you said you wanted to raise money as the main goal, but lose some weight too.
Genuine question - has it helped? How many were you doing at a time?

Good question.

I don't know if I've lost weight but several colleagues have commented on my change of body shape with more definition to my shoulders.
I started doing 10 sets of 10 incline press ups and after a week moved on to flat press ups. Mid month I was chatting with a colleague and the topic of max reps came up so that evening I did 20 reps for my first set. I could have done more, but at 20 I decided that I would try (successfully) for 5 sets of 20. Last night was 4 sets of 25 to finish the month and the last 5 reps were a killer... :ROFLMAO:
As far as mental health goes, there were a few days where I was dreading them, but without fail I felt better after the first set and raring to continue.

I fully intend to continue, but rather than doing 100 in sets I'm going to follow a plan to get to 100 in one go, so initially my daily reps will drop. As this will free up some time I'm also going to add in some other exercises; squats, planks, curls, etc.
