Have a 2018 Focus Jam2 and I'm looking to go to a 2021. Wanting to move to 29" wheels, 150-160 suspension and a removable, larger capacity battery. Original thought was to go Levo, and placed a deposit down in late July for a Comp in Spruce. Like the years of refinement, 700 battery and SLX build of the Levo Comp. And the idea of the more quite Brose motor. Was initially told August delivery, but now it is October here in the states, and that not a sure thing. As side from the wait, the Brose motor failures are a concern. And Specialized doing the firmware update with extended warranty confirms. Understand the solid support via Specialized, but the fact it is needed is not comforting. The new 2021 Trek Rail 7 is now making me think that I should move that deposit over to it. Specs is very similar and it cost a bit less money. And the new, recently enhanced, Bosch motor sounds enticing given the Brose failures. Trek being a big player certainly gives similar support, if so required. Same local bikes shop, as well. What would you do?

I own a trek and a specialized EMTB. Brose motor is way better. Rear suspension geometry on the specialized is also better. I actually own two treks. One for me and one for my wife. I can see me buying another specialized in the future but probably never purchase a trek again primarily due to the rear suspension geometry. It really affects the overall riding “feel” of the bike.
