Purion vs Nyon

My new bike came with a Purion display which covers the very basics but means I still need to have a Garmin Bike Computer on so I am now Lusting after the Nyon.......which does absolutly everything apart from Voice Sat nav.

Anyone using a Nyon here for these reasons?

I briefly considered one, then I looked at the state of my Intuvia head unit after a couple of unscheduled dismounts and decided against it...

I was interested in the Nyon because it gives some motor tuning options.

I have a Nyon on one of my bike and find it very useful, mainly for the map and navigation part. It also offer you the possibility to adjust each assist mode to your taste but I don't really use this.

It works very transparently, synchronizes automatically via wifi to download gpx files and upload the statistics of your riding.

An alternative could be Cobi which Bosch bought a while ago.

Cobi looks looks good but no way am I paying £300 for a switch and phone holder!!!!!

Well, (without the light it's £50 less) it's not a "phone holder". It's a control unit, interfaced to the CAN bus of the bike, which communicate also to the phone for more features.

If you ride it off-road, stick to the Purion.

It looks very bling but the cynic in me thinks that Bosch might just be using the vulnerability of their head units as an extra revenue stream...

I would call the purion simple also - no time display, no battery %, unable to custom tune the power bands, no GPS, no Wifi, No sat nav.....

The current bosch displays look like you have stuck a 2005 Tom Tom on your handlebars
