I’m feeling ill reading this thread 😂
Edit Hope everyone is fine though 👍
I admit to feeling the same! I'm 73 and reading the sad news of guys with health problems is selfishly disturbing. Sad but true.

Well I’m still here 😀 going through immunotherapy and chemotherapy and have had 2 sessions so far, time from diagnosis to treatment was 4 weeks so a big up to the NHS. I actually feel fine and no different from before diagnosis…the only discomfort has been side effects to chemotherapy…….and my bloody hair fell out 😂 still getting out on the Levo although I have cut back on the extreme off road stuff for now. long term prognosis isn’t brilliant….but it’s years and not months , I‘ve even gone back to work…..needs must and all that 😬👍🏻

That was a funny moment for me also.
Was having my morning shower and noticed the palms of my hand were covered in hair …later that day I treated myself to a straight-razor haircut at the barber to shave off the remaining bits of hair. He was nervous.

I thought it was kinda funny 😁.

Exactly the same for me, handfuls of hair in the shower 😂 my son then did a close one with the clippers

UPDATE
I had a CT scan last week, which is the first one since diagnosis and the start of immunotherapy and chemotherapy, I still have one session to go. Anyway i had a call today from my cancer nurse today to tell me she has the official results and the (large stage 4) tumour on the bottom lobe of my right lung has more or less disappeared 😀 this lobe was also collapsed ….. it’s now working 😀 I also had nodules on both lungs which have also more or less disappeared 😀 totally unexpected news and we are absolutely thrilled …. I have a meeting with the oncologist next week to discuss in further detail and what happens next.

This hits close to home 14 months ago my 75 year old mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Chemo and cancer drugs only slowed the growth. Its spread to her pelvis now and shes in a hospice with 3 months expectancy.

Glad to hear you had a positive result Howz, Cancer is indeed a bastard.

Bit of an update, I’ve finished chemotherapy around 2 months ago (my hair has grown back 😀) and I’m now on immunotherapy for the next 18 months with treatment every 6 weeks, the 11cm tumour on my right lung has more or less disappeared and my bottom lobe has re inflated, feeling good with no breathing problems and venturing off road on the Levo again. The prognosis has totally changed from a few years to “ we don’t have a clue…go and live your life” 👊🏻 like Trump it looks like I may have dodged a bullet 😊 the oncologist is extremely pleased as he reckons they don’t see a response like this very often to stage 4 cancer… 👍🏻

That is rare for a stage 4 🙏.
Start off slow and don’t taper off 😉.
Oh, and a pic of your bike would be nice!

Btw, good news.

I did eventually treat myself to a new bike 😊 back in the saddle again (llandegla the other week) 👍🏻 treatment with immunotherapy is now every six weeks and apart from having suffered with neuropathy, hepatitis and arthritis induced by the treatment I’m good 😀 the big bugger tumour is now just scar tissue , still have a few small (mm) nodules in both lungs which are either growing slightly or shrinking slightly…but pretty stable 😎

you're incredibly lucky or my local hospital is negligent.
Sorry to hear this, only because I was a hard core athlete did I survive this, and it was very painful.

He is lucky, but now that he is on the thinners, he has a great chance of not having the severe damage one goes through when the big one hits.

again my condolences

Awesome. in 2020 I had a massive PE after minor ones for 3 weeks that gave me the same symptoms as you. They told me it was probably a tumor because they found a mass in my lungs. The PE almost killed me, and ive been fighting for 4 years to get my health back. Lucky there was no cancer just a lot of lung damage from the massive PE.

Today im setting records on strava and getting trophies almost every ride at 61 years old. I love life and live every day like its my last. Im at 3000 miles for the year, and climbing 300,000 feet in elevation.

I wish you all the positive energy there is on your recovery. Rubber side down brother Howz
