Play at crank arms?

gave the levo a good clean and checked bolts etc... while it was upside down I noticed there was a very slight amount of play when holding crank arms opposite each other and giving them a wiggle. Is this normal?

FWIW it is considered normal on the Giant.

Yes. Can confirm the above, it's a design feature.

There's a wave washer on the non-drive-side of the axle. This washer pre-loads the bearings, releases pressure on them and compensates for small axial movements/tolerances.

Typically for the rider, this axial movement can't be felt in any real-world riding scenario. By hand, the movement can usually only be provoked when pulling/pushing hard on the end of the left crank.
