Pin hole in wheel ?

Had a nasty wreck today and apon inspection of bike, found this hole in wheel that actually looks to perfect to be trail damage.
Any explanation ?
Wheel is a Bontrager line comp 30.

Are the edges perfect without any puckering in or out? Does the other wheel have a hole with the same kind of offset and diameter?

It's there to drain water out.

Yes, that hole was in my brand new Bontrager wheelset as well. It is to drain water out from inside the rim or maybe allow the escape of hot gases during manufacture? Anyway that is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about
