Wet out today but not horrendous. Few trees down but got past . Hardest part is lifting bike on to rack. Never noticed till I came back to van lot of beer tins and wet wipes , drunken Ebiker obsessed with cleaning or a bit more sinister mmm I wonder. Could find a better parking space than that for whatever was going on.

You must have our blue skies. Rain again I should have grabbed the nice day yesterday.

I was about to say that there must be something wrong as it started fkn raining again here and that rain usually passes the island first.

Due to the continuos rain I did only one quick tour last weekend….since Dec. 10.

Riding with wife tomorrow. So yesterday went on a recce ride to see if I could get to one of our favourite rides which I'd tried to get to a couple of weeks ago but was defeated by silly thick mud churned up by forestry vehicles.

Finally got there after trying many different no longer existing tracks shown on my obviously out of date Ordnance Survey 1:25K map app. Turned the corner and ... fook, looks like a massive celestial reaper has been at work! Nope, won't be doing this route tomorrow ...

Happening here more and more often that you have your favorit tours out in the woods / countryside and one day you come back and it became a plain.

Same here 1,000km south of you. Hilly chalk tracks are increasingly rutted by streaming water leaving chunks of (often broken) flint exposed - don't want to fall off on the flint, tears holes in you. Not for nothing did stone age man make arrow heads and other tools out of flint.

You must be thinking of the rest of Canada.... the place known as the Great White North! Here in Vancouver, we can be out in T shirts in February which can really confuse the bears. The trails I was on today can be under 2-3 feet of snow at this time of year or completely bare. I will freely admit it does rain here but the temperature is usually mild. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, they had to truck in snow from hundreds of kms away for some of the events on the local mountains

If you're trying to make us jealous it's working pal . Even a planned pacrafting paddle for tomorrow is cancelled . Where's the Water site is giving a lot of my local rivers as Huge. Another 9 books and 50 movies it won't be far from our short summer. Enjoy yourself.

It's got me stumped why my friends say that I put my bike up on a pedestal...



Always great to ride somewhere new and went to a local National Park (D'Aguilar NP) about 40 mins from home, it's called The Gantry as they have a massive crane like structure that they used to mill the massive logs with back in the day (as you can see from this stump).
Excellent riding on a nice mix of 4WD and single tracks which were walking tracks that bikes are allowed on, not much foot traffic on a Monday fortunately, only came across 2 sets of couples. Saying that, we did 1000m of climbing over the 22km.
Another added bonus was it drops down 5 degrees Celsius up there so only about 27c instead of the 32c+ we have been having down on the coast lately.
All in all an excellent local addition to the places to ride around the Sunshine Coast.

And then there are those of us who choose not to hibernate. 3” (7.5cm) of snow overnight. Nowhere near current Maritime standards but nevertheless still significant enough to give me a pretty decent workout.

The top part of Boogieman ends on a 300 foot bridge/structure that goes over a stream 10 feet below in the middle and raises up 8 feet in the air. What a great way to start the season!

Jelly! That’s how I feel watching your footage. I would kill to ride the singles in your neck of the woods. It’s going to be at least another two months before I can even think about pulling the Levo out of storage.

There was a great turnout of 35 at a group fat ride two weeks ago in Lacombe, AB. Pretty casual meet up at a local brewery followed up by a couple of laps around a local lake.

I got stuck in Vancouver for a night flights to Europe all cancelled 3 days delayed. And when I arrived in London 3mm of snow . All flights North 3 day delay so train up to Glasgow overnight there , train to Aberdeen no trains going North of there so Bus to Fochabers and taxi home.

The Boogieman looks the business. Just I don't do jumps that big anymore if I ever did. Aye you were pechin a bit going down there you must be gettin auld ?. Heavy breathing I mean.

I need to cover my eyes when I travel past the North Shore in Vancouver. Frightening, nightmare-ish! Legendary.

Grouse Mountain is suppose to develop some trails (another ski hill). My kid might be a part of that. He also upgraded the Grouse Grind. I worry about him though …he rides my HT Powerfly like it’s a unicycle.ffs.

Thorn Hill in Maple Ridge is more my speed, even though I ride Burke, Eagle and Bert Flinn mostly.

A ski-day-pass is $300+ now. I can’t imagine what a family and accommodation would cost. The Whistler village is nice but very touristy now.
