So some time last winter this Maxxis Grifter tires where up for sale for 16EUR each so I bought them with the idea of getting the Garmin 100 mile badge and today was the day .

What I learnd:

a mile is quite long
wind is no joke
a lot of confort on a bike comes from tires, OK I locked the suspension but still...
if my ass would have been in charge it would have quit half way ?

I guess he could have been stuck behind you and with your newly muscular buttocks, leaving him distracted and confused about his whole future ?

Or suddenly realised what an bad idea it had been buying his Shimano bike instead of a Bosch bike, so went all Pro footballer and savagely threw himself to the ground rather than carry on ?

Most likely he was eating ice cream again, got brain freeze, fell over broke collar bone and broke his little finger because he was holding it out in his gentrified ice cream eating pose ?

In the few weeks since Ive ridden locally mother nature sure has been busy ..I wouldnt have believed before I set out from home this morning that I was going to get such a thrashing from overgrown branches nettles & thistles ..
I went to check out some bridleways which I hadnt ridden for a while ..in some cases a couple of years ..and unfortunately some look to have been lost for good due to seedling trees taking hold ..but the biggest surprise was a section of clear felled ( inc a bridleway) which I had ridden earlier this year and was now closed ..
Against the threat of death I had to have a look ..and it looks as if its going to be re-instated once the work has finished ..but is in a bit of a mess right now and un- rideable .
Not all doom and gloom ..still a good ride out but totally thrashed & soaked ..

The green bits are the course of the b/ way so hopefully it will be tidied up ..

This looks to be a lost cause though ..

The trouble is with 250 sq miles of forest its difficult to keep on top of every track when there are so few of us riding them..?

Bejezus - what version of windows is that ?

Oh no, that's not right is it ..

Bejezus - How the hell did he do that ? Did you throw his bike at him to try and get two ice creams ?

If that wasn't bad enough, he's stuck with you there trying to make him feel worse better.

Try showing him this and tell him the great news - it's not as bad as it could be, he could be as broken as his bike ... with a bit of luck he's delirious enough not to notice it's nothing like his bike (couldn't find one the right colour, sorry). You might also have to explain to him he was unconscious for a while and it's December now, that's why there's snow - but the best news is it's his birthday tomorrow and you've bought him some new pedals and the hospital staff have agreed you can bring a sheep in for 15 minutes.

I think you guys/gals are professional photographers with an eMTB hobby …or you live in paradise. All these pictures are great.
Really nice pictures and amazing history.

Just looked up Jetsetdemo's broken santa, quite an interesting story !

A crazy ex girlfriend with an Axe.

Let this be a reminder to us all. After a ride when you get home and you say "I love you" to your bike. Make sure you say it loud enough that your OH might think you're saying it to them.

Yeah! All those pictures of beautiful views I will never visit get a bit too much after a while. On the other hand, there's a very good chance I will get to see a frog soon given how much it's rained here...
