Another corker of a ride in the Eastern Cheviots starting from Wooler town centre ..taking in Wooler Common , Broadstruther ,Langlee Crags, Threestone Burn, Ilderton & back to Wooler ..cant remember the last time I did this ride ..but its is on one section where I first met my riding buddy of the day ( Nick) while he was having a nap from his riding on a hot summers day about 25 years ago ..we've been mates ever since ...
His first ride since a heavy fall a few weeks back where he bust his ribs ..
A few pics ( more than I've posted recently !)

A few years ago we were asked to recover the body of a walker who had gone missing from Ambleside 8 months before.

A farmer was riding his quad bike across the boggy bottom of the little upland valley to check his fence and spotted a walking boot sticking out of a boggy pool next to the fence.

When we pulled him out he was wearing his rucksack and was still holding a Wainwright guidebook.

He had obviously been climbing over the fence, lost his balance and had fallen head-first into the pool and drowned.

Not the usual type of bog body you hear about.

The moral of the story is take bogs seriously, especially if you are out by yourself.
I hit a bog here in Wales once while doing a fair lick of speed.. fortunately for me, it wasnt fatal :D

No MTBng today because Mother’s Day and the ride peeps are all being celebrated by their kids or celebrating their wives.

Since I’m neither (unless you count dogs) I did road miles today. Just under 18 miles (28’ish km) (a PR I haven’t hit in a long, looooong time).

It was a beautiful, breezy day with a high just under 80° F (27° C).

And, DAYUM! My newly dyed hair is PINK in the sun!!!

Well, pic of the day is fairly quiet today ! I guess everyone's still shell shocked from etoni's latest and greatest ! ?

I'm still waiting for a new derailleur .. I can only post these instead ... It's almost bike related - Fox ! I was just about to get in the shower when I saw this guy/girl outside ..

What's more important is did the mouse/vole select the right mode for fox-pounce-evasion manoeuvre?
