What is a pedal assist bike called in your country? Is pedelec a common term? I only ask because of this:

Here in Aotearoa New Zealand, we only have one law currently governing electric assist bicycles. There is a maximum power limit of 300W. Between 300W and 2000W is classed as a moped. These must be registered and the operator hold a full car licence or at minimum a learner motorcycle licence. Over 2kW is a motorcycle.
