Today I went into Halfords (UK Motor factor) to buy some gloss red paint and satin black paint for my eOne-Sixty 9000. I took some pics of the bike to compare.
Long story short, I chose:
RED: Hyundai "Electric Red" was easily the closet colour match. At the time I thought it was spot on.
BLACK: Halfords "Satin Black". No car company sells a car with a dull black paint, but the satin black from Halfords at least was plain, not gloss, metallic or pearlescent like all the car company black colours.
The red is not 100% spot on, but close enough for stone chips (2) and I assume scratches too (none yet).
I was more concerned about the Satin Black, because the black finish on the Merida is quite dull and the Halfords satin black looks a bit shiny on the pack. I had scratched the non-drive side chain stay on the black bit through to the red underneath (on my first trip out!). The paint went on glossy but when I put a hair-drier on high heat on it for a 10 seconds, it went nice and dull.
Anyway, it was all good enough to put the helicopter tape on the bike which I had bought before the bike arrived, which I should have done before my first ride, but I couldn't help myself!
