Hi just got my new bike today , so far so good ?

Probably a stupid question but how do you remove the rear wheel ??

Do you undo it on the cassette side and pull the axle out ??

Yep, exactly that.

Watch out on the other side, the bit that the axle screws into is not captive, and is far too easy to lose.

Also when you put it back together it needs to be tighter than you think, if it's not done up proper tight there's is a small amount of play in the back end.

And to preempt your next question.

Yes, it is correct that the derailleur hanger wobbles about when the rear wheel is removed.
