Kenevo Gen1 Ohlins Shock died.

My 2019 Kenevo, still under warrantee, had it's shock die. Lost a seal and leaked its oil out. I sent the shock into the local Specialized dealer to have it repaired. With COVID, the earthquake, and it being a Ohlins shock I have this sneaky suspicion that I might not see the shock back for a month or more.

With that said. Does anyone know if a older Specialized Enduro shock will fit? The Kenevo has the same X style frame. I would be ok with finding a low level air shock to put on to get me through till the shock returns.

Yes the enduro shocks do fit the kenevo but you will be running 6” of travel instead of 7” as the enduro shocks are only a 57mm stroke instead of 63mm for kenevo.
If it means being able to keep using the bike then it’s certainly a good option ?

Does Kenovo have longer eye-to-eye shock length? If it is, you loose your geometry

The 2019 Kenevo uses the same length and stroke shock as the 2018/19 enduro. 216/57 shock with the same specialized shock block.
The 2020 Kenevo uses a longer shock with standard eyelet 230/62.5

Just to clear up any confusion the 2019 kenevo runs a 63mm stroke shock. I know as I found out the hard way! ?

Umm mate, you are wrong. Both the website and my verniers can confirm that the 2019 xwing Kenevo runs a 216/57 stroke shock.
Where you may be getting confused is the shock originates from a 216/63 shock but then once they add their proprietary shock block in it reduces the stroke to 57mm.
If by some freak chance you have something different then you sir are a lucky man. I know all this because I ran an enduro air shock on my bike and checked that it had the same 180mm travel.

All good mate, I didn’t take any offence to what you said. Was just stating a different point of view (the right one ?), I’ve played around quite a bit with the xwing shocks. I measured my own Kenevo Ohlins coil and 2018 Enduro Ohlins air/Rockshox shock. Both which can be confirmed on the specialised web pages.
Are you saying your standard equiped 2019 Kenevo Ohlins shock measures 216/63?

Old thread I know but thanks for the posts above as I have just bought a Factory 2020 Fox Float X2 off an old Enduro to fit my Gen 1 Kenevo as the original Fox Van RC coil keeps working loose I got the X2 for not much more than the servicing + postage cost of the Van RC and have heard air shocks tend to work better on the GEN1 Kenevo frames due to the frame shape allowing a more linear progression with the shock.
