Picked up my SL Comp carbon today. I few changes of components and it was on 17.77 kg.

What changes?

My medium Levo Carbon Comp 19 is 27.7kg set to ride (ie 500Wh battery, pedals, tubeless, carbon bars) so you've hit the mythical 4kg weight saving there.

That's why I got a decoy.

I also want to strength train when riding rather than cardio.

I'm hoping that I can now do 2 laps instead of 1 which means I get double the fun stuff and blast up the climbs!

I'd still want to test ride one of these just so I understood the difference in motor assistance and how that affects the overall ride.

Not gonna change as the frame model has been in sale only for one whole season. Now is the second season of levo. They wont be changing frames after 1-2 years as it is very expensive.

Its a comp carbon with a suspension upgrade they have done in house, charging 750 for the luxury, without looking at the pricing that seems a fair amount of a price jump for it.

Just swapped the stock tyre over to the 2.6" version ready to finally get out on the SL tomorrow.

Size differance is as follows:
2.3 = 60.35mm
2.6 = 64.09mm

I dont know, its what put me off it, - I suspect we will see more bikes with this motor sooner rather than later. I would hope they make aversion echoing the Stumpjumper Evos geometry - that would be some bike

That would indeed be a very very capable E bike

Pulling off the same weight I reckon Spesh's warranty dept might need to employ a few extra staff members though

Just picked up my Carbon Comp today in XL. Haven't weighed it. Still has tubes, but had to get a ride in.

Quick thoughts, which will sound a lot like repeat from other reports:

- Fast on the flats and DH. I didn't do too much extended DH as this was more of an XC Ride, but it definitely rides like a modern trail bike. In comparison to my 2019 Kenevo, it's wayyy more poppy, accelerates quicker, changes side-to-side much easier. Less point and shoot stable. Rear would slide around more than I am used to, but I will adjust.
- Motor assist was spot on. I am one of those that de-rated my kenevo a bit, and this feels close. My ken "turbo" setting (think 60/75 or something like that) still has it over the SL, but for the majority of the ride, it didn't matter.
- Cut-off was barely there, as reported. Power off riding was completely doable.
- XL felt good for my height - 6'1". TTL was a bit long, and i slammed the saddle forward. I am thinking of designing and fabbing a bracket that would allow me to push the seat forward a bit more giving a steeper effective STA. It's not terrible by any means, but it's noticeable in the steeps.
- My ride used ~66% battery, mostly trail and eco with a bit of turbo. 20.6 miles, 2600ft vert. No range extender. Follow Jonathan on Strava to see this activity. Join for free.
- I was using about 20-30w weight average more than my Kenevo rides. I could feel it, but felt less draining in other ways.
-Suspension was surprisingly good. Rhythm 34 was supportive and had decent small bump. Didn't feel it flex, but I wasn't smashing rocks. Definitely not as supple as my 180mm Lyrik w/Push HC97 and dual air chambers (duh). Rear was similar in comparison to the Ohlins ttx22m.

Need more rides to fully vet, but it's awesome! I may try to slacken the HTA a bit for tad bit more stability. First.. gotta get rid of the tubes and properly set the suspension. I will be testing it on more "all-mountain" trails next.

The SL will definitely stay as it complements my Shuttle. It provides a different ride quality and I really digging it. Keeping one more analog bike and will sell my other 2 analog bikes.

That's what I've been thinking. There are likely to be some other improvements as well since we can say that this model is like a prototype.

Agreed, that's why I chose Kenovo. Because it's closest to Evo

That spot is one of my favorites. Kenevo was always a bit much for the flow out there. Excited to try the sl

Another ride, with my SL. For those in California, I rode this time at Wilder and UCSC. Trails are twisty, flowy, lots of roots, lots of jumps/features, loose, punchy climbs (but not long and sustained unlike Coe) and few steep descent. I did 34 miles, 4000 ft of climbing. About 20% battery remaining after the ride. The SL really shine in these trails. I can really feel the ride quality vs my Shuttle - easier to manual, jump, change direction and pump. Very agile and nimble! When I change body position, the SL reacts immediately. think I found the SL’s sweet spot for my type of riding!

I'm upgrading my Levo SL Carbon Comp drivetrain from NX Eagle to SRAM XX1. Need to replace the Formula FH-521 free hub which is Shimano based to a SRAM XD. Response from Specialized for the part # is as follows. LBS has ordered it,

" if you have a LEVO SL Comp Carbon and you want an XD driver, your local Specialized dealer can order part number S202100009."

Replaced the free hub. weight dropped 33g
