Noisy front end

I am questioning if my shocks are blown, do spring shocks blow? Cheap Suntour XCM spring forks...... does not happen when fully locked....

When grabbing the front break and rocking back and forth, there is a slight wobble that is not coming from my headset. Could it be the fork inside the stanchion? I don't see the play, but have also ruled out a loose quick release, rotor, wheel or brake issue.

Also quite a bit of rattling when riding rocky rough dirt roads.

Any ideas?

Turn your front wheel 90 degrees and then check for play. That will (mostly) eliminate brake pad movement when trying to find out what it loose. If it still has movement, and isn't from the headset, then most likely the shock bushings are worn.

Ok, I turned 90 degrees and rocked back and forth. There does seem to be play between the yellow and green lines i drew on both sides.

Can I tighten this? Not even sure what to google for a walk through .

Sure seems like worn bushings or just bushings that have a lot of slop in them. Probably not worth fixing. Keep an eye out for a good deal on a replacement fork.
