Figure I didn’t need to put ebike in the heading of an ebike forum. My question is what should be my next bike. I currently have a Bulls AM 4 and I am looking for a second bike which will be my main bike. I have progressed a long ways in the year I have had the Bulls and I am riding mostly blues and blacks, probably 50/50. Pretty aggressive but older so not sending huge gaps or drops. Mostly looking for a good DH bike for rocky, gnarly runs with small to medium drops. I consider myself an intermediate rider that sometimes throws caution to the wind (sometimes to my detriment lol) usually ride 3-5 times a week on local trails here in San Diego, I try to ride 20 miles each time depending on where I am riding so a larger battery? Or smaller battery and buy an extra. Looking to all you experts out there who have loads more experience and know a lot more about the different bikes then me. A little truth about the Bulls, I bought it on sale and I bought it for the battery. Already had one Brose motor go down so maybe a different motor? Though I like the power in the s mag. Thanks riders, eagerly awaiting your responses;) Oh yeah, trying to keep it under 7k US.

At your price point, I don't think you can do better than the Giant Reign, or maybe a Trance would work better for you. Regardless, they offer good builds, good support, and a good presence in the region.

Firstly you have defined the type of bike you want which is more Enduro than trail....but it is a sliding scale so you need to decide how far along the scale you go. Your new bike will therefore be a minimum of 160 fork travel and minimum of 150 shock travel.......and the fork will be 36mm stanchion or 38. Head angle needs to be relatively slack and the bike overall wheelbase fairly long. Persoanlly if you are hitting rocky downhills and have the occasional crash I would avoid carbon frames.
After picking a bike with the sort of geo and suspension that suits, your best bet is to then consider bikes available in local bike shops so you get ongoing support.

Specialized Gen3 Levo Comp Alloy is $7500 and with the new frame/headset adjustments you could run it in the slack configuration. It’s also in-stock at some local San Diego shops.
