Hi all,

newbie to e-Bike ownership and for my first bike I decided to go for an Amflow PL and got one in the early batch in Dec.

Have been hanging my nose over a number of e-bikes the last 5 or 6 years and ridden a bunch over the last decade, but never crossed the line from analogue to electric ownership until now. Why the Amflow? I think I liked the idea that its a bit of disruptor to the market and the torque/power available coupled with the light-ish weight means I can have some real fun up technical ascents which adds another dimension (and fun).

Still getting to grips with the trade-offs of range and power. The original firmware was a bit disappointing on range, but the latest upgrade allows me to tweak the modes really well and now I can get the range to do some all days epic rides. Still unsure where the e-bike fits into my riding schedule, or if the Amflow is really the right bike for me; but for now its grin-inducing, so that's the whole point isn't it? I probably shouldn't over-think it.

Find it strange that there is a lot of hate out there on socials for the bike, but I guess that's because there is a lot of hype around it and I think people don't like having hyper shoved in their faces all the time. Joined this forum as I'm hoping its a bit of a calmer place and looking forwards to sharing experiences and also getting advice from others.

I actually haven't run into those reactions, but maybe not hitting the right sources. Were these people that just gave a quick spin on it or actually own it? Just curious what the main hate is? thx.

Definitely a market "disruptor" with that spec which is possibly the reason for any negativity, but looks like a great buy capable of handling anything an average rider is capable of riding. If they brought out a belt-drive version with integrated MGU they'd dominate the market.

I often think it’s mostly psychological. I miss the "struggle" of mountain biking—the satisfaction of reaching the top and the feeling of truly earning the downhill. It can be disheartening to see an eMTB rider fly past on a steep climb with little effort, no matter how polite they are. But at the end of the day, it’s just another variation of the sport. I'm not as fit as I used to be, and for me, eMTB is about riding more and having fun. As long as we’re mindful of each other, the trails are there for everyone to share. 😊
