New Tyres?

If a tyre is undamaged when do you change it? When the sharp tread blocks
seem rounded off? Is there a rule/way of deciding. Old and new in the pictures.

I’ve got the max grip compound maxis DHR all round, and after 5 rides the rear already looks like your photo. There’s no way I’m buying a new one yet ?

Though your question is very valid.

Thanks for your replies. It seems to grip ok but thought I’d ask. Good to have the reassurance.

Ha ha…..I used to ride motor bike trials and changed or reversed rears when the sharpness had rounded off on the block tread.

It looks like you are running dual compound and shredding the edges whilst the centre isn't wearing ? Clearly you need to give both tyres away and invest in some maxgrip

I replace mine often. Tires are your connection to the ground. New tires are a lot cheaper than a trip to the emergency room or bike parts.

I replaced my last set when 50% of the cornering knobs had fallen off, handles a bit better now ?

That tyre in the top photo looks virtually new, no need to replace yet ?
