Introducing myself. I’m first and foremost a petrolhead, but at age 65 have been bitten by the eBike bug and I now ride a Trek Powerfly 7, acquired end October 2021.
I started ebiking in April 2021 with a VanMoof S3 (two actually, the first one broke after 2 weeks) but rapidly realised that (a) on our terrible UK roads you really need front suspension and (b) offroad riding with mates is much more fun than dodging the traffic on tarmac.
In total I’ve done around 900 miles on the VMs and 600 mostly wet and very muddy miles on the Trek. So while I’m a novice, I do have experience of front hub drive and the excellent mid-mount Bosch CX performance line in the Trek hardtail, along with cadence versus torque sensors, a few tyre options and the importance of good pedals.
I will share an experience with error code 500 on the Bosch CX motor next time I post.
