Hello All,
By way of introductions, I’m a 64 year old retired fireman in Northern California with a love of outdoor activities and also questionable (used up) knees. I have a couple acceptable MTBs that I take with me on all my road trips but rarely ride, mainly due to the difficulty I encounter with hills. It is my hope that riding EMTBs will both improve my overall fitness and specifically my knees, as well as make mountain bike riding (trails, dirt tracks, back roads, etc) a reality for me again.
To that end, I just purchased two Specialized Turbo Tero’s after ruminating on the E-Bike idea for about a year, narrowing down the features and specs I want, and shopping several brands. I purchased a 3.0 for my wife and a 5.0 for me. I’ve ridden the 3.0 briefly and mainly used it to learn the the Mission Control and Ride apps as well as other associated gadgets and riding basics while waiting for my 5.0.
I rode the 5.0 for the first time today and found it quite enjoyable and got a good start on my learning/training effort: 12 miles and 1200’ elevation change, on pavement, gravel, and dirt. More on all that later along with a question or three, but suffice it to say that the ride was a success and I’ll be out there again in the morning. For now I just wanted to say Hello, and that I’m looking forward to learning and sharing some information and experiences here.
Regards,
Rich
