My new Delight Mountain arrived at the beginning of the week. but before riding I wanted to protect it with wrap to keep it Beautiful. Unfortunately none of the manufacturers of protective wrap produce a kit for this frame so set about making my own using Helicopter Tape .... Turned out to be a huge job involving making patterns , cutting out, recutting the mistakes and finally fitting to my matte Chilli Red frame took me 2 full days and even then I am not entirely satisfied with the results...numerous micro bubbles and some peeling inspite of extensive cleaning .
The R&M frames are largely flat surfaces with few compound curves so this makes the job slightly easier but I certainly will not be doing this again!! might have to replace some smaller sections if they peel off too much.
My advice to anyone thinking of doing the same job.....get a professional to do it .. might cost but its worth it.
Now I can go and ride it!!! Will report on impressions shortly
