Hi all, new to the hobby.
I am resurrecting my old DHR for use as an ebike, so I can get some active time with my 12yo son. I am suffering from some bad knees from abusing my body in my younger years.
We are doing a cross country trip for 8 months, so wanting to get our bikes sorted before August. I have (2) CYC x1 pro v2 packages sitting with our bikes in the USA. We live in Panama when not traveling in the USA. For bikes we have my old Haro DHR and my kids new Framed Montana fat bike.
For me, I went with a BAC2000 set for 72v. I'm going to go with a backpack battery, looking at 72v 20AH set-up and a 10AH set up for cruising around campgrounds and stuff. For the boy I have the BAC855 and set for 48 volts. We will do a more conventional triangle bag for him.
Anyway, looking forward to spending some time in the DIY forums as well as poking around for ridi g opportunities as we travel around out west.
Looking forward to getting to know some like minded people.
