New motor underpowered in 2018 levo & firmware questions?

Hi all, Just had a new motor fitted in a 2018 Levo 6fattie due to major noise & the new motor is noticeably underpowered compared to my previous one with the same settings, & the difference was night & day riding my mates same model bike, in fact mine now feels like a normal bike in comparison! Mine is now quieter but still has some noise under torque that I didn't hear on my mates bike.

Dealer has been helpful & contacted Specialized who said to check if I was running the latest Mission Control app & to check the acceleration setting. So I installed the latest Mission Control but see no acceleration setting?

Having taken screenshots before replacement I know my motor is still a v1.3 from serial & firmware version was 5.0.4 before replacement in old app & is same after replacement in new app, BUT my battery was 4.23.1 before in old app & is now down to 4.17.1.in new app?? (Update still 4.23.1 in old app & 4.17.1 in new app!?)

Anyone got any ideas on what the problem may be or able to advise what are latest firmware versions are?

I see other threads that may have experienced similar last year so also wondered how they turned out as I am not happy with the bike...

Thanks

Could be the acceleration settings. I used very slow settings for my 2018 and it feels much like a normal bike but I like that.

If you have android, you can download previous versions of Mission control here and play around with wheel circumference and acceleration I think which might help.

I've not had any motor probs with my 2018 Levo but this thread will come in handy at the time when it needs to be replaced!

Keep us posted :)

I’ve had this too - and got it sorted. I’ve not got time for a full reply now as I’m travelling but will get back to you. Out of interest, do you use BLEvo (as it can help tell us what is going on here)

FWIW, I just connected with the previous iOS app (v1.2.0, the first version that allowed setting of support & power for each of the 3 power settings) & the battery firmware is still 4.23.1 !! Yet v4.17.1 on the latest iOS app (v2.0.7) ??

I still don't see the acceleration response settings that Specialized told my dealer that I should check..? Is this a 2019 only thing they are getting confused about?

Also noticed can't change wheel circumference in latest app but can in previous, what's best setting for this if I use old app, it's currently 2293 ?

Are 4.23.1 & 5.0.4 the latest 2018 1.3 motor firmwares?

P.S. Have never used Blevo or similar, with the amount of issues I've had I don't want to risk warranty (only frame & wheels & bars left from when bike was new!)...

The dealer checked that everything was on latest firmware & test rode bike & is now getting another motor for me! Still keen to hear everyone else's experiences ...
