I just got my 2018 Commencal Meta v4.2 Power 650B last month and already ripped go my motor guard. I called Commencal and they said that the new motor guards are on back order. So I decided to just make my own. I used aluminum 1/8 thick x 3 inches wide and 19.5 inches long. I posted a pattern that needs to be printed on legal paper for the right size.

How is the home brew skid plate working out? Hard to stomach $70 for a couple pieces of plastic.

Took a try making one with half assed shit tools. We will see if it works. Not as tigh to the frame as I’d like. Might make another version. 51662BD4-AA04-418D-8FCF-A7CB062D93B0.jpeg

Looks good. Did you add an extra piece in the middle?
Yes. I dint like how the left side of the motor hung out on it’s own so far. I used 2.5” bar for the main part and a short piece of 4” for the deflector. I tried a JB weld as a poor mans bond for the pieces it didn’t hold. I’ll have to find someone who can run a bead on both sides.

I finished it, but aesthetically it didn't look that great, so I kept it aside in case I broke the original one, which never happened. It's been 3 years of hard riding and it's still in one piece and looking a lot better than my cranks
