New Members now require 10 posts before private messages can be sent

Hi,

I have changed some settings so all new members require at least 10 posts to be able to send private messages. This is try and reduce spammy / scam messages being sent by new members.

Should make everyone join as a member. It’s a great forum with so much info and so little to join. You could save the joining fee with all the info on here if you had a problem Or the posts on savings etc

It's free to join/become a member. Guests can only read posts, not respond or post threads.

"Subscribing" just saves us having to see all the adverts which you'd get if you don't subscribe - the "Chat function" was also a subscriber only feature until it was eventually opened to everyone, but it wasn't used much so was presumably removed as it invariably just took up screen space rather than being anything useful. For me, I'm happy subscribing for just over 1.5c per day if it helps keep the forum running.

You can also be a "Patreon". I think this gets you access to a secret Patreon area of the forum, but I'm going to guess that it's not used that much - though it could be the Cool place to hang out, who knows .
