I was out on my bike 2 weekends ago, and half way round, my chain snapped.
I fixed it with a quick link, and returned home.
I checked it with my chain checker, and it’s just over 0.25... so I ordered a new one. In the mean time, I put a couple of new links in, and it was fine last weekend.
The new chain (XX1 Eagle) arrived earlier this week - and I fitted it on Friday night.
I’ve just been out this morning, and found my gears were skipping a bit.
Is this as a result of my new chain being slightly shorter (not stretched), or is my cassette needing replaced too? The bikes done about 1400 miles, so I reckon that cassette / chain have done about 1200.
Hopefully it’s just a case of reindexing the gears?
