I ordered a nice new canyon neuron:ON, I they have just delayed at least until August, with new bikes already appearing do I cancel and see what everyone releases in September or wait? ?

I was spending alot going for the 9 and extra battery. New motors and larger battery's comming I just don't know what to do.

There is always going to be something better on the horizon otherwise we'd all still be riding 21speed hardtails with canti brakes ?.If you're happy with your decision then stick with it but if there's doubt you'll regret it once all the 2021 bikes are launched it's just that time of year, but you will she a wait regardless of what you decide

Yes some new bikes will be announced soon... BUT!

- A lot of brands did their significant refresh for 2020, thanks to the new Bosch motor out last year. Canyon included. There might not be many significantly different bikes from the big vendors.
- Even if new bikes are announced soon, they often don't become available until Jan/Feb the following year. This was the case with a lot of the Bosch Gen4 powered bikes announced last summer.

So, get a bike as soon as possible, and ride it now.

It's just the chance of a E9000 motor appearing more than the frame and bike it's self that's on my mind, oh and the larger shamano battery capacities as I had ordered a spare.

Do you currently have a e-mtb? If you do then I'd wait but if not do you really want to wait until next year to get a newer model...

No I don't, I'm just riding my clockwork bike, like I say it's not the frame or mtb components on my mind. It's the fact they could be moving on to the next gen motor, also I had ordered an extra 500 battery when shamano have just released a 600 plus what won't fit this frame? I could have the lower capacity and a old motor as soon as it arrived that doesn't seem sensible?

I know tech moves fast but we know the e8000 is likely to be replaced iminantly, thus the new platform will be "current" for at least a few years?

If I was buying a new bike now I think I'd get a Bosch or Brose motor bike, I couldn't buy a Shimano one knowing that it was to be replaced quite soon.

But they have the second highest failure rate in the BIZ, at least the Brose has the customer support to replace it asap. I wouldn’t get a 4 year old invention when in the tech world where even 4 months old is obsolete

Huh? Well based on my reading here and elsewhere, the E8000 has the least complaint/issues reported. 4 year old technology that apparently works better than much newer tech. Brose needs the customer support because the product plain sucks. As far as reliability goes.

Anyone tried to order a bike recently. Trek have said if I order now it will arrive in January......same spec as the current 2020 (sold out).

Only difference a 12% price increase..
