Am selling Merida ebike here in Norway, and have also heared the same about integrated battery, and that the 2020 mod will be out very earlie this yearTake this with a pinch of salt but I've just heard from a Merida rep that the new 160s will have will have an internal down tube battery. Very vague on other details but he seemed very sure of this
Focus group syndrome strikes - the aesthetics may be better, but there seem to be way more reliability issues with integrated batteries. As a result I much prefer external.Take this with a pinch of salt but I've just heard from a Merida rep that the new 160s will have will have an internal down tube battery. He says that Jürgen Falke (Merida's head of design) showed him 2020 prototype, it will have an integrated battery, some sort of air intake in front to cool the battery and motor, and motor will be smaller and more coveredAnd I think this guy talks about the 2020 with integrated battery, but I cant understand the language

If it’s around $11k in Aus lt will be around $16k here in NZ.I was told yesterday by rep for new Merida - Carbon frame, carbon wheels, 29 front, 27.5 rear, 500w internal battery with free second battery, Fox factory front and rear, Shimano XTR 1 x12 sp, 2 colours black or a nice green ( slightly different to current) Big money though 11k AU (Australian) embargo on photos etc till May, Hope that helps anyone waiting or considering.
Still love my current 900E with spare battery ( My former Giant battery lasted 40% longer) with no plans whatsoever to update for that sort of money.
