I do all my service my self on all my bikes and today it hit me. I have never had any software updates on my bike that I bought new in 21 since it has not been in for service.

Have I been missing out on anything?

Also, planning to disassemble the bike including the motor (not taking it apart) to check everything this winte. Are there any particular torque specs for all the bolts connecting the frame to the motor availiable somewhere?

Thanks!

Good time to replace or regrease all those frame suspension bearings. I downloaded the PDF files (and printed) for the torque settings on my Rail (Bosch motor). Nice to have handy for a quick reference. (I think motor/frame bolts were 20nm(6).

I wonder if your model year is putting out 85nm of power for your motor. That might have been an update in 21 or 22. 🤷‍♂️.

Shock and forks probably need a service also. Hmmm …could feel like a new bike when you’re done.

Thanks for the reply. Well I have the rest sorted as of bearings and other service needed.

My model year has the 85Nm update. Is that the only thing that has happened in about 4 years?

About the torque spec. Did not see that in the maintenance pdf on this site. Can you give me any directions?

There was also an update for the walk-mode…starts off at 4km and then increases to 6 km per hour after holding down the + button for 4 seconds. The bike doesn’t behave like a rocket now.

I periodically visit the LBS to get the service light indicator reset (orange on the Kiox). That visit and any updates are always free.

Other than that you’re not missing much …I think 🤔

Ok, thanks for taking time and answer. I think I have missed nothing and hey, nice job Bosch for having a stable software!

Most of the info I needed was available on the Trek site but there’s a lot of information and pictures available in here. (Search)

For your level of service I might also recommend these tools.

A yearly service for the bearing seal kit is a good idea along with some good torque wrenches (2).
