The bike is Fantic XMF 1.7. I want something with adjustable compression damping. Piggyback is probably a good idea for fade reduction. The higher end model of my bike comes with Rockshox SuperDeluxe Select+. Same shock but with a reservoir. I'm thinking about one upping that with SuperDeluxe Ultimate. I don't know what else is out there. I'm fairly certain this model will fit the linkage and the frame. I wouldn't want to go over $600.
What do I look for to confirm fitment besides travel and eyelet gap?
Are all Rockshox shocks of the same model valved the same? Or do bike manufacturers tune them for the chassis?
In other words, would the upgraded shock immediately perform better, or might it be terrible out-of-the-box because my stock shock is tuned for the frame and the new one is not? This would also determine, if it's worth looking for take-offs from other bikes.

Thanks!

@harrysmalls You are from the USA, the home of DVO. I urge you to take a look at the DVO Topaz T3. In addition to all of its performance benefits, it is amazingly tunable by you. The travel length is also adjustable by the addition of different sized spacers, also easy to do without any special tools.

Google it and reviews.

@harrysmalls If you do consider the DVO Topaz, you may find this dimensioned drawing of assistance.

If you get the super deluxe in the same measurements/specs as your existing shock it should be a like for like swap reusing existing hardware.

If you go for a shock from another brand you will need new hardware etc
