Hello gents !
Here is my Trek Rail 5 and here are the components that replace the original ones , I think we can forget the entry level that it was: 4 piston front / rear brakes XT Shimano + Shimano ice technologies discs + Mavic Crossmax carbon front / rear wheels and XA Elite carbon ID360 + Renthal Fatbar lite carbon exclusive edition handlebar + Renthal Apex 90 mm stem + Renthal Kevlar grips + Michelin E-Wide 29x2.6 front / rear tires all tubeless. Everything that is Bontrager and that equips the majority of Rail has been removed (except the saddle and the telescopic tube which will also be replaced in the near future). And I'm not going to stop there ... next steps: the full Sram xx1 drivetrain ( or e-Helix 12v , I do not know yet … ) then the 36 fork and Fox Factory shock for next year. Some might think it's madness, others won't ... but for me, it's the benefit and the pleasure of transforming an entry-level into a high-end custom machine with the components of your choice.
any advice on upgrading my machine is welcome … thank you so much
