Hi
As an experiment I recently swapped my Phase Evo 29” front wheel and tyre with a 27.5 wheel and tyre and can’t believe how good it feels so far.
Having come from years of (normal) mtbs with less aggressive geometry it was a bit of an eye opener to now be riding an emtb with a 64 degree h/a and a 29er front end. The added grip, roll over and cornering confidence once I got used to riding the front differently is welcome but what I don’t like is the greater “flop” from the front especially negotiating slow technical descents or just riding about on road to/from my local trails.
Fwiw I’m now running with a 27.5”
Continental Race King which as expected is also much more quieter on road sections and doesn’t bombard my bikes down tube with stones etc the way my Kryptotal did off road and the bike now feels much quicker and livelier to ride and still handles great.
Has anyone else made this change and kept it this way?
