I have watched what seems to be hours of video on Emtbs. For all the attempts to be logical in reviews, the best I detail on motor noise I get is that the TQ motor is nearly silent.
Noise is a big consideration to me in my decision. I just don't want to be cranking along with a whining motor.

Bikes I'm interested in are:
Transition Relay and the Trek Fuel Exe.
Based upon the features I am leaning toward the Transition Relay.

I'd appreciate any real world experience with either. Please comment on motor noise. Better yet, point me to any review that does this objectively.

I too have examined this issue and for certain the TQ is slightly quieter (I've ridden this one).

However the F60 seems to have a more functional power & range, while being very slightly louder. Like very minimally.

I have a Relay deposit. It's not only my preferred motor, but it's also one of my absolute preferred brands of bikes.

My second choice, possibly even my first choice, would be the RapCon Max that uses the TQ motor, but they won't sell to the USA.

Also worth noting is that the failure rate on the F60, is quite high. It still has issues. Hopefully they are all getting worked out now.

I have a trek fuel exe, the motor is very nearly silent when it is outputting lower amounts of power, say <150w. At max power you can hear it if you're riding on tarmac, but its still pretty quiet. If you're off road the noise of the tyres on dirt/rocks/etc drowns out the motor noise. Essentially all the subjective reviews are right about the noise (or lack of) that this motor makes.

My other ebike has a bosch cx gen 4 motor , and before I got the trek I was never that concerned about the noise from the motor, I would never have considered it as a reason to buy one brand over another, but now I've had the TQ motor for a while, the near silence is really quite nice. I still wouldnt make motor noise my main differentiator of one motor over another, but its a bigger deal than it used to be for me now I've had a quiet motor.

I havent tried the F60 so cant compare to that motor.
