Some time ago I said I was using Tractive GPS Tracker as a bike security device. It is in fact a pet tracker but I use it for my bike. I have just upgraded to the XL which as the name suggests is bigger but it means it has a battery life of y weeks as opposed to 4 days for the smaller model. In addition you can use it to track rides and you can invite friends or relatives to share the location of the tracker. This means if you keep the tracker on the bike or at least carry it with you, your wife or mate etc can go online and see where you are. It costs about £60 and the web service is £89 for 2 years subscription.
