I have a weird Ghost shift on mine which I've not tracked down yet.

It only seems to do it over rough terrain when your pedalling hard (probably unnecessarily) and 95% of the time only when over about 35kph, it's only done it once when less than that and I snapped the chain.

It's indexed correctly, shifts great. The Ghost shift seems to momentarily jump to an adjacent gear (or try to) then jump back. Therefore this might just be something to do with the gear cable routing.

However, in the meantime I thought I'd try tightening the clutch tension.

Then in theory, you tighten the Torx screw (I say in theory as I've only read about it and mine would only tighten about 1/8th of a turn if that).

For anyone interested, the ratcheting clutch mechanism in an Advent X : (It's vital the clutch lever is fully engaged all the way up or the ratchet teeth won't be fully engaged and will wear quickly !!)

Just googled "advent x clutch play" and found this thread. Was riding my e-Mythique yesterday on some jumps and drops, and noticed a rattle on bad (but not very rough) landings from the chain that shouldn't have been there with a clutch. Found out that the cage can end up in a spot where it can swing freely in a manner that can translate to maybe 10mm of play at the bottom pulley. Probably mostly not enough to throw a chain, but definitely enough to make a noise I don't want to hear. I guess this is due to the ratchet mechanism when the pawl ends up on "top" of a tooth and there is free movement until the pawl drops into a dip.

I have the Advent X on two bikes, both have this play. Checked one bike with a 10 speed XT derailleur, zero play. SRAM Apex 1, at most a mm or two of play but derailleur so flimsy it flexes a bit before the clutch engages. Will check my GX Eagle and Saint today. This is enough for me to go to Linkglide (assuming zero play) when the time comes.

Good info in your link. Thanks. Initial i was looking to get linkglide before my advent x purchase but i couldnt find the wider range linkglide cassette.
I was just saying recently how good the advent x has been working. Shifts are still bang on but i have growl back there and the shadow cast on the road shows the lower chain bouncing around on smooth road. Hoping its just some debris in my adventx der pulley. If not maybe that deore linkglide der will do the trick. Decent price and my cassette is 11-48 so nice to know itll adjust to that 48

I'm going to Linkglide. Chain is not showing even 0.5 wear, but gears 6,7,8 have the chain skipping. Even tried a new chain and all adjustments (well, mostly chain length and b gap) are bang on. Cassette is the heavier Advent X version.

Looks like there is now a new version of the Advent X derailleur out, but somebody else can test that. ADVENT X Ver.2 Rear Derailleur 10 Speed | microSHIFT
