Anybody tried something larger than 2.6 on the rear? I'm thinking of trying a 2.8 Minion DHR, but guy at Commencal did not recommend it, he thought it might be too big.

I’d avoid the Minions, at least in a 2.8 or 3.0. I’ve destroyed 3 (OE on the bikes) they just tear and puncture real easy. Eddy’s! All day long and cheaper ????

I’m running 2.8 eddy currents. They are pretty big and fit fine. 2018 bike.
Also 2.8 Eddy Currents. Fit fine and cheap prices here. 2.8 eddy current Bike-Discount

Any of you two have pics to see the clearances?

I've had 29x 2.5 DHF minions on the front of our unassist bikes & a 2.6 on the rear of the meta power, no issues & quite a bit of miles on them.

Yep, I have never had a problem with the 29er up front or any DHR up to 2.6 on my regular bike, I’m a big fan! But 2.8/3.0 on the rear of an ebike......I’ve killed 3 in a year.

Must just be me.

How many miles and what sort of conditions are you riding? I put my eddy's on in October ride mostly loamy rooted single track 2-3 days a week and my tires still look new compared to yours.

Do you have any issue with tire sealant leaking through the casing between rides?

It’s not the grip or sealant it’s the casing. They have had suffered from pinch flats, punctures, tears around treads and nibbles that are shredded. Haven’t had one 27.5 x 2.8/3.0 last more than 500 miles before it was tubed due to being damaged and un-sealable.

Latest one did 100 miles and it’s needing internal patches or inner tube.

Eddy C has arrived and is going on.

Just swapped for a new set, those had about 900 miles. Here in Texas is mostly sharp rocks and roots. Love the Eddy's. Get them cheap at BikeDiscount.de

I noticed that now they've gone with smaller tires on the 2020 and 21 bikes, 2.5 and 2.4. I wonder why?
