I think the latest software updates help smooth out the motor so should increase longevity (and fixed the walkmode issue brose introduced into the base firmware) There was a fix a few months ago for a power pulse which was also causing unnecessary wear/strain.

Deciding is not easy !! Most bikes are pretty good at the moment. The Rail's a great all round package too and in the scheme of things, pretty good value.
