Megneg problem?

Installed a megneg upgrade on my shock last weekend. Went out for a ride and
I cleaned my bike After and saw some oil bubbles come out of the megneg.
Both the top and bottom have some oil loss and saw some Sand sticking to it.

It also seems that the lower oring is coming out a bit, even when I push him back a bit

Is this normal!?

Something is wrong.

My MegNeg has been fine, zero leakage since installation except a minor amount on the shaft, same as any other air shock. I haven't even had to add any 'top up' air either.

Providing the top is screwed down properly I can't see how it could leak anywhere tbh due to the O rings at both ends of the can. I guess all I can advise is to pull it down again, check the condition of the O rings and especially make sure they are seated properly.

Don't even need grease on those O rings, a thin layer of oil is enough, just to stop them 'grabbing' when tightening/closing up the can.

The top leak could be something as simple as not enough dynamic seal grease or a missing’O’ ring, that one is so small and thin it’s easy missed, the bottom leak might be the incorrect’O’ring fitted or again not enough dynamic seal grease, contrary to other advice, you do need to use seal grease but only a moderate amount, I would have replied to this post earlier but I’m recovering from a spinal procedure and haven’t been on the forum until now and just spotted this question 😉

I meant to also clarify that the lower O ring in the OP's pic isn't actually used for sealing, it's only a retention stopper for the outer sleeve. It's the 2x internal O rings on the can that do the sealing.

And yes Sean is right, instructions do say to use grease on the O rings but my comments regarding oil being OK was simply to prove that use of either won't be your issue, as my own fitment confirms (I used oil).
