Greetings and Salutations!
Started building a BikesDirect Gravity Deadeye/BBSHD as a commuter/rec bike, but then discovered 15 miles of singletrack just up the road and tried to build in some trail competence. It kinda works, but ended up buying an Orbea Occam for actual offroading (and a dirt jumper because who needs 2 clavicles?). Just felt like the DIY bike was taking on a little more than it could chew on gnarly tech, especially with the solid rear axle. Still a blast to ride to work and take on long rail-trail rides, and makes pretty impressive climbs. And I'm still contemplating a purpose built eMTB for that #uphillflow
