Hi,
new to the forum. Middle-aged man thats been riding for a while. I have an Orbea Rise since 2021 that I modified for more enduro-like duties.
Mods: 170mm Fox38 fork, long-shocked with a DVO Topaz3 and offset bushings to just over 160mm rear travel. Also, put a 27,5 rear wheel in. Now it rides just like it should in rough natural terrain. Even took it to a national-series enduro the same week I installed the longer shock (and made the podium to my big surprise), so it does the job on the single track and feels good.
BUT, I don't trust it for bigger jumps and hucks. Or rather, I have to guinea-pig jumps and drops on my analog bike first, and then later I might take the Rise there when I feel safe. Dont know why, but it might be that the Rise is just not stiff enough in the frame to make it predictable.
So I am looking for something more hard-hitting that would work both on natural terrain and for a day of hucking?
The bike should not be too heavy, as I feel the possibility to easily move it around makes me feel a lot safer on new stuff...
Also, seat post insertion depth is a point, I want to get the seat far away.
And a motor that does not rattle downhill would be great (unlike my current one).
Full power is not mandatory, but I would like it in case I go to more enduros. And minimal resistance after cut-off. In my experience a lot of the racing is above 25 km/h.
160mm+ on the rear, I find more travel gives me much more room for error. Middle-aged man does not like to crash you know![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
As far as I have found, the new Orbea Wild should fit perfectly with the new rattle-free motor, should be ca 22kg with the 600w lighter battery and 170/170mm. But I am curious for better deals as well, Wild is not cheap anymore, and also curious for new motors from DJI and ZF?
Any suggestions?
